Telling grades apart, not just families

Separating aluminium from copper takes no instrument. Separating a 316L from a 304, one aluminium grade from another, or spotting lead in plumbing brass does.

That is where the value of a batch is decided — and the risk of downgrading it.

RoHS, waste, ash: screening for heavy metals

Sorting does not stop at recoverable metal. Heavy metals in manufactured products, in plastics for recycling, in waste before incineration and in the ash that comes out of it all fall to the same elemental measurement, with preparation and calibration suited to each matrix. Chromium VI and brominated compounds are confirmed in the laboratory.

In Switzerland, those contents are also read against the limit values of the Waste Ordinance.
